World-renowned accordionist Ksenija Sidorova will once again perform in her homeland, and her nimble fingers will strike unforgettable sparks in the bittersweet Accordion Concerto by Argentine tango master Astor Piazzolla. Young violinist Daniils Bulajevs will show his exceptional talent, painting in sound the capricious, dazzling portrait of “Tzigane” by the Basque-born genius Maurice Ravel. Spanish dances and carnival costumes will shimmer in vivid colour in Ravel’s “Rapsodie espagnole”, while crimson giant blooms will flash by in Piazzolla’s Buenos Aires seasons – but let’s begin with the “Alborada del gracioso” (Jester’s Morning Serenade), to welcome the turn of the year in a fresh, lively mood.
