The two will team up with an orchestra and a choir to perform Brahms’s remarkable German Requiem. The composer himself wanted to name it A Human Requiem, namely, in his view, the work could connect, unite, strengthen and inspire people. Many will agree that he succeeded, as in this requiem soothing contemplation and luminous peace triumph over the habitual sense of dejection and impending doom.</p>
