The thespian Kagel sends his best anniversary wishes to Beethoven, whose quintet was, in turn, inspired by Mozart. Šmite’s composition takes us for a walk through Old Riga, where we can hear the sounds of Trokšņu Street, whereas Jolivet’s Mediterranean cruise takes us to the island of Linos, the home of only a few hundred people. Françaix encounters shepherds, and the LNSO’s Wind Quintet together with Agnese Egliņa bring it all together.
