On Maundy Thursday, which this year also coincides with April Fools’ Day, the outstanding LNSO chamber musicians will offer a baroque music programme full of luxurious harmonies, pure instrumentation colours, varied affects, and excellent virtuosity. Semjonovs has been nominated for the Latvian Grand Music Award precisely for his interpretations of baroque music, and his other LNSO colleagues are also true baroque enthusiasts, not to mention the meticulous, elegant harpsichordist Ieva Saliete who has performed with prestigious baroque ensembles and orchestras across Europe and cooperated with, among others, Cecilia Bartoli, Sol Gabetta, Bobby McFerrin, and Angelika Kirchschlager.
