Contemporaries of the romantic era Arenski and Brahms meet in the classical part of the programme. The Russian composer dedicated his Piano Trio no. 1 to Karl Davydov, a cellist born in Kuldīga who was later referred to as the tsar of cellists in the Russian Empire. Brahms, on the other hand, despite having announced that he would never compose again, returned to the life of music with his clarinet trio. Meanwhile, one of Canada’s most prolific and prominent composers Glick brings listeners to the energetic, touching, bright, and dazzling klezmer’s wedding.
