The Czech composer Václav Trojan wrote all kinds of music, and a great deal of it, but he is remembered above all as one of the finest composers for Czech animated film. His suite “Fairy Tales” is rather like an entertaining and delightful cartoon itself, giving LeNeSOns the chance to romp about with enchanted princesses and fearsome dragons, to ride a mischievous carousel and to take fright at a sailor with a magic accordion.

The new concept for LeNeSOns and the script of the concert show have been created by director and playwright Andris Kalnozols, one of the initiators of puppet theatre for adults and one of the founders of the once popular artistic collective “umka.lv”. Kalnozols has staged productions at Dirty Deal Teatro and at the “Sansusī 2016” festival. The new look of LeNeSOns and the visual design of the concert are the work of Velta Emīlija Platupe, a skilled and acclaimed maker of puppets and marionettes. LeNeSOns will be brought to life and given his voice by actors Armands Berģis and Aleksejs Geiko.

In this year’s first concert, “LeNeSOns and Fantasy”, the orchestra will be joined by four young accordionists: Oskars Maurers and Raivo Tambergs, pupils of the Jāzeps Mediņš Riga Music School, and two students of the Latvian Academy of Music – Liāna Stankēviča and Antons Gračkovs. The young musicians will play the solo parts in the colourful and musically captivating suite “Fairy Tales” by the Czech composer Václav Trojan.

Information about the concert show in Latvian can be found here.

Children under the age of five are admitted for 1.50 EUR, without a separate seat!
