The violin, viola and cello solos in the show will be played by pupils of the Emīls Dārziņš Music School and the Pāvuls Jurjāns Music School who study with the LNSO musicians Nellija Sarkisjana and Ināra Brīnuma, and with Kārlis Klotiņš and Dace Pūce.
As always in this series, the LNSO will be conducted by Andris Vecumnieks. He will also join in the conversations with LeNeSOns and Lenija, played by the actors Armands Berģis and Aleksejs Geiko. For the first time, the LNSO’s educational concert show will be enriched by shadow theatre, devised by the writer and director Andris Kalnozols together with the artist Sabīne Moore.
Andris Kalnozols says: “This will be my first experience of the aesthetics of shadow theatre, which makes working with the artist Sabīne Moore, who does fine work in paper-cut technique, all the more important to me. Combining my inexperience and bold guesswork with the artist’s knowledge and technical solutions produces an original joint work, to which our two actors add their skill in animating puppets and their high-spirited humour.”
During the interval, children will be able to look behind the scenes of the shadow theatre in the Great Guild’s Münster Hall and become shadow-theatre actors themselves.
