Bizet’s opera “Carmen”‘s popular themes have been lavishly woven by Rodion Shchedrin with intricate, wild rhythms. Milana Komarova creates her own story of fateful passions, casting prima ballerina Viktorija Jansone in the title role. The first half of the concert brings – Krists Auznieks’s new work “Fire and Rose”, which promises a journey within oneself and perhaps leads to something greater still.
An hour before the concert, at 7 p.m., we invite you to the Organ Hall, where Orests Silabriedis will host a pre-concert talk with one of the concert’s performers.
For listeners’ convenience, the LNSO offers a specially organised “LNSO Summer House” bus to the concerts. Departure point in Riga – Dailes Theatre, final stop – Cēsis Concert Hall. On the return journey: boarding point in Cēsis opposite Cēsis Concert Hall, final stop in Riga – Dailes Theatre. One-way ticket price – EUR 5.
