LENESONS AND GRIEG’S “PEER GYNT” (RU) – A CONCERT PERFORMANCE FOR CHILDREN
Saturday
11:00
Venue Lielā ģilde, Amatu iela, Central District, Riga, Latvia

LeNeSOns is amusing himself with shadow theatre this season, and now we can guess into which bends of the fjords, which depths of northern waters and which rocky heights we will be carried by the music of Edvard Grieg that we will hear in this programme.

At the centre of attention – Peer Gynt and his encounter with the fearsome Mountain King, Anitra’s playful dance and Solveig’s eternal longing. Alongside this we will learn Norwegian dances together, join the procession of the trolls, sing the praises of spring and watch the peasants making merry. Welcome to Norway!

Importantly – in this concert the LNSO will for the first time be led by the young conductor Artūrs Gailis.

Alongside the shadow theatre, live illustrations will be drawn during the concert for the first time. The concert’s artist is Vivianna Maria Staņislavska, winner of the 2016 Baltvilks Prize.

Children up to the age of five who do not occupy a separate seat require a special ticket costing €1.50.

A concert performance for children in Russian.
