Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto is loved by audiences and violinists alike. The soloist is the Taiwanese-born winner of second prize at the 2015 Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow (no first prize was awarded) Yu-Chien Tseng. Alongside it – Shostakovich’s Tenth. In March 1953 the Great Fear came to an end, and a few months later Shostakovich began writing one of his most profound works. The whole programme lies in the hands of the maestro always awaited in Riga, Fedoseyev himself.
Before the concert, at 18.18 in the Münster Hall of the Great Guild, there will be a Pre-concert talk, hosted by Orests Silabriedis. Admission is free on presentation of a concert ticket.
