STRING QUARTET?
Goran Gora’s songs written to the poetry of Knuts Skujenieks, gathered on the album “Awaken”, have been heard in many parts of Latvia. Writing in “Mūzikas Saule”, Uldis Rudaks says: “Twelve superb songs, each better than the last, so that with every new song you have to change your mind all over again about which is the album’s high point.” But what use are heights already reached if there is no wish to look for new ones?! Goran Gora is putting together a new programme that promises something never done before – for the first time in his life Goran Gora will step onto the path of chamber music and make music with a string quartet, performing his own songs to his own words, as befits a true singer-songwriter.
We invite the guests of the “LNSO summer house” to head, immediately after the concert by Vestards Šimkus and the Spīķeri Quartet, to the “FonoKlubs” (47 Rīgas Street) and to surrender to the magic of a late summer night with Goran Gora’s new songs in the cheering company of a string quartet.
