French conductor Casadesus, with his Aznavour-like gaze, comes from a family of musicians steeped in tradition. In his venerable years he brings to Riga Bizet’s popular “L’Arlésienne”, joins the charming Latvian pianist Arta Arnicāne in Ravel’s spirited piano concerto, and sets off with Rimsky-Korsakov on a fabled sea voyage. A thoroughly French evening full of adventure.
