LeNeSOns will explore Schumann’s “Scenes from Childhood” together with young listeners – music written for piano, but this time heard in colourful orchestral instrumentation. The pieces will unfold one after another, telling of interesting stories, foreign lands and their people, a blind man’s playing, cosy time together by the fireside, knights and their horses, something frightening, something serious, and how a poet speaks, while the most popular part of the cycle is known as “Dreaming” (“Träumerei”). During the interval, as always, there will be joint drawing, getting to know musical instruments, and other activities.

Actors – Valdis Vanags and Aleksejs Geiko

Director Una Rozenbauma

CONDUCTOR

Andris Vecumnieks

PROGRAMME

  • Music from Robert Schumann’s cycles “Scenes from Childhood” and “Carnaval”
