Kristīne BALANAS — violin
Conductor Guntis KUZMA
Programme:
Ilona BREĢE — Concerto for Violin and Orchestra
Wolfgang Amadeus MOZART — Symphony No. 35 (Haffner)
Witold LUTOSŁAWSKI — Concerto for Orchestra
There is no doubt about violinist Kristīne BALANAS’s abilities among critics, conductors and the world’s leading orchestras. In tandem with the LNSO’s accomplished conductor Guntis KUZMA, for whom MOZART has been one of the closest composers since childhood, they will perform a special programme where three different eras and musical worlds meet.
Ilona BREĢE’s contemporary Violin Concerto, one of MOZART’s late symphonies, and Witold LUTOSŁAWSKI’s Concerto for Orchestra—one of the most important works of Polish post-war music, with Polish folk-music motifs subtly woven into its modernist sound—bring together three distinct eras and musical worlds.
The concert is included in the Spring subscription 2027.
