Ludwig van BEETHOVEN — Piano Concerto No. 1
Richard STRAUSS — “Death and Transfiguration”
Arvo Pärt once described pianist Onute Gražinītė as an astonishingly musically mature young artist with exceptional musical sensitivity. Gintars RINKĒVIČS is one of Lithuania’s most internationally acclaimed conductors and has been the artistic director of the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra for three decades. Together they will lead listeners through three contrasting musical worlds: Mikalojus Konstantinas ČIURLIONIS’s atmospheric “In the Forest”, BEETHOVEN’s First Piano Concerto, where youthful energy meets elegance and wit, and Richard STRAUSS’s monumental musical vision of life’s ending, struggle, memory and spiritual revelation.
The concert is part of the Cultural Programme of the Lithuanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union in 2027.
