LNSO double bass section principal Oskars Bokanovs has decided to hold a tribute to the largest string instrument of the symphony orchestra. Together with pianist Rihards Plešanovs, Oskars will play Bach, alone without the pianist he will perform Pēteris Vasks’ virtuosic Bass Trip, and the concert will be crowned with Sezārs Franks’ popular Violin Sonata arranged for double bass. The programme also includes one of Messiaen’s mystical glances at the infant Jesus. A varied programme, surprising music, passionate young artists!
