Tommaso PRATOLA – flute
Conductor Michele GAMBA
Programme:
Jacques IBERT – Concerto for Flute and Orchestra
Ottorino RESPIGHI – Ancient Airs and Dances
Béla BARTÓK – Concerto for Orchestra
Two of the most exciting artists of the new generation of Italian musicians join forces for a programme that journeys through the refined elegance of France, the nostalgic lyricism of the Italian Baroque, and the bold modernism of Central Europe. Although strikingly different in style, the works of Ibert, Respighi and Bartók were all composed during a period of profound upheaval in European history. Looking both forward and back, these composers turned to the past not as a refuge, but as a source of inspiration, transforming tradition into music of remarkable originality, enduring beauty and timeless relevance.
The concert will also be performed on Saturday, 7 November, at 5:00 PM at the “Latvija” Concert Hall in Ventspils.
