Programme:
Takashi YOSHIMATSU — And Birds Are Still…
Wolfgang Amadeus MOZART — Sinfonia Concertante for Wind Instruments
Igor STRAVINSKY — suite from the ballet The Rite of Spring

Nodoka OKISAVA, principal conductor of the Kyoto Symphony Orchestra, is distinguished by a special ability to create a deep, living connection with musicians and music. Together with the LNSO she presents a programme that brings together pieces of very different eras and moods — Takashi YOSHIMATSU’s poetic and subtly melancholic meditation, in which the image of birds becomes a symbol of memory, silence and loss; MOZART’s Sinfonia Concertante, where the voices and characters of each soloist — the quartet of metal wind instruments — emerge in an elegant dialogue; and STRAVINSKY’s suite from The Rite of Spring, which immerses listeners in a primeval, rhythmically explosive and shattering ritual. The concert is included in the Spring subscription 2027.
