A special opportunity to experience Vestards ŠIMKUS’s pianism under the direction of the internationally recognised Spanish conductor Roberto FORÉS VESES, whose interpretations are noted for their nuanced, intellectual and charismatic approach. Christian MASON’s Eternity in an Hour explores time as a relative and mutable phenomenon, drawing the listener into an intense, almost psychedelic sound world. KORNGOLD’s piano concerto is an almost uninterrupted, symphonic-scale musical flow whose full magnitude can only be grasped after the final sound. BEETHOVEN’s Symphony No. 3 (Eroica), meanwhile, is a monumental tribute to the idea of heroism, transforming courage and the power of the human spirit into music.
