Sold Out

The LNSO’s Conductor Emeritus Sinaisky is a frequent guest in Riga, and this time he will conduct Bruckner’s Eighth. After its premiere, the symphony was pronounced the epitome of late 19th century music, a work whose intellectual scope and magnitude surpasses the rest of Bruckner’s symphonies. A stark contrast with grey-haired Bruckner’s gigantic feat is the third of five violin concertos written by a youthful, 19-year-old Mozart in Salzburg over the span of a single year. Solo by the LNSO’s charming, virtuoso concertmaster Sarkisjan, who has played through all of Beethoven’s violin sonatas and now tackles Mozart – the brilliant, dashing jester of music.

SOLOIST/-S

Georg Sarkisjan – LNSO Concertmaster

CONDUCTOR

Vassily Sinaisky

PROGRAM

Wolfgang Amadeus MOZART Violin Concerto no. 3

Anton BRUCKNER Symphony no. 8
