The LNSO invites you into a thrilling tale whose characters – the brave boy Peter, Vāvule the wolf, Čiepste the bird, Pēkšķis the duck, Rasums the cat and the grumpy grandfather – are brought to life by musical instruments. What could portray a bird’s chirping better than the flute! And what better than the oboe to capture a duck’s quacking? As for a crotchety grandfather’s grumbling, the bassoon does it best, as everyone surely knows. Incidentally, the grey wolf has been named Latvia’s animal of the year!
