LNSO concertmaster Georgs Sarkisjans has prepared a new solo programme. Alone with his violin, he will offer audiences virtuosic and lyrical, powerful and richly coloured works for their judgement – a classical Bach partita, the legendary violinist Ysaÿe’s Sonata No. 2, a Chaconne for a fateful red violin by the multiple Grammy winner Corigliano (an Oscar winner for Best Original Score), and Bartók’s Sonata, brimming with playful invention.
