She made her international debut as Suzuki in Madama Butterfly at Deutsche Oper am Rhein and has since performed at major European opera houses, including Volksoper Wien, Theater Bonn, Malmö Opera and the Royal Swedish Opera. Acclaimed for roles such as Carmen, Octavian and Cherubino, she is equally recognized for her commitment to contemporary opera, having premiered several new works by Nordic composers. Alongside her operatic career, Emma Sventelius is an accomplished concert soloist, performing with leading Scandinavian and European orchestras. Her artistic achievements have been recognised with several prestigious awards, including the Birgit Nilsson Scholarship.
