He regularly conducts the Academy Symphony Orchestra and actively participates in concerts featuring emerging conductors, while continuously developing his artistic and technical skills. Alongside his orchestral work, Rāts is also active as a choral conductor, collaborating with several Latvian choirs and taking part in the Latvian Song and Dance Celebration tradition. His musicianship is distinguished by versatility, thoughtful score interpretation, and a particular interest in Latvian symphonic and choral repertoire.
