Since 2018, she has been a member of the ensemble of Oper Frankfurt and has established herself as one of Latvia’s leading opera singers. In 2025, she received the Grand Latvian Music Award, the country’s highest distinction in professional music.
Her extensive repertoire spans more than thirty roles, including Carmen, Cornelia (Giulio Cesare), Erda (Siegfried and Das Rheingold), Waltraute (Götterdämmerung), Suzuki (Madama Butterfly), Herodias (Salome), Sonetka (Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk), Maddalena (Rigoletto), Orlando, and Xerxes. She has appeared with leading opera companies including Oper Frankfurt, the Latvian National Opera, San Francisco Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Seattle Opera, Pittsburgh Opera, Atlanta Opera, and Lyric Opera of Kansas City.
An accomplished concert artist, Švēde regularly performs major orchestral and sacred works by Mahler, Wagner, Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms, Haydn, Pergolesi, and Vivaldi. A graduate of the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music, she furthered her training in the Merola Opera Program and the prestigious Adler Fellowship at San Francisco Opera.
