Tommaso PRATOLA is the principal flute of the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra since December 2019.
Pratola was invited to participate at the Rome Chamber Music Festival in 2012 and 2017. In November 2012, he received the Severino Gazzelloni Prize and Premio delle Arti from the Ministry of Education, University and Research of Italy. He received the Alain Marion scholarship as the Best Flute Player in the Domaine Forget masterclass with Emmanuel Pahud in 2014. Additionally, he won the special prize Tomasi Headjoint at the 15th Gheorghe Dima International Flute Competition in 2015.
Formerly, Tommaso was a member of the EU Youth Orchestra and Italian Youth Orchestra and the first flute of Teatro Petruzzelli Orchestra in Bari. In 2017, he received a scholarship from the Haus Marteau masterclass with Andrea Lieberknecht and an honourable mention at the Società Umanitaria International Competition.
Pratola was selected as Academist in several renowned music festivals — Young Artists Festival Bayreuth (2015), Pacific Music Festival (2018-2019), and Zermatt Music Festival (2018-2019). He substituted for the first flute at Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in February 2020.
