The concert on 14 March will showcase an array of dynamic pieces: an opus by Hungarian composer Zoltán Kodály, inspired by his vivid experiences with the music tradition of Roma ensembles; Norwegian Edvard Grieg’s Piano Concerto, written in his youth and considered one of the greatest in history; and Czech Antonín Dvořák’s New World Symphony, a masterful blend of his travels’ fresh impressions and a deep yearning for home. The young Finnish conductor Kristian Sallinen will lead the LNSO through this evocative programme.
