Conductor and pianist James SHERLOCK
Programme:
Maurice RAVEL Valses nobles et sentimentales
George GERSHWIN Rhapsody in Blue
Edward ELGAR Enigma Variations
Soloist and conductor James Sherlock returns to the LNSO for some of the most beautiful and mesmerising passages in the symphonic music repertoire. He has already appeared on Latvian stages twice – in Cēsis and in Rēzekne – yet this time it is the Riga Congress Hall that he will be infusing with Ravel’s splendid suite dedicated to waltzes, featuring as the soloist for Gershwin’s legendary Rhapsody, and concluding the programme with Elgar’s musical portraits in the Enigma Variations.
