The winner of the 2001 Queen Elisabeth International Violin Competition, she has since performed with many of the world’s leading orchestras, including the Berlin Philharmonic, Boston Symphony Orchestra, Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Orchestre de Paris, collaborating with conductors such as Andris Nelsons, Santtu-Matias Rouvali, Kirill Petrenko, and Yannick Nézet-Séguin.
A passionate chamber musician, Skride performs regularly with her sister, pianist Lauma Skride, and is a founding member of the Skride Quartet. In 2025, she released Shostakovich: Violin Concertos with the Boston Symphony Orchestra and Andris Nelsons on Deutsche Grammophon, a recording nominated for the Opus Klassik Award for Best Concerto Recording. She performs on the 1734 ‘Yfrah Neaman’ Stradivarius, generously loaned by the Neaman family through Beare’s International Violin Society.
