A graduate of the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music, he has won ten international singing competitions and has appeared at many of the world’s foremost opera houses, including La Scala, the Metropolitan Opera, the Vienna State Opera, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, the Berlin State Opera, the Bavarian State Opera, and the Zurich Opera.
His repertoire comprises more than ninety roles, with internationally acclaimed portrayals of Wotan, the Dutchman, Amfortas, Telramund, Jochanaan, Klingsor, Scarpia, Boris Godunov, and Méphistophélès. Recent highlights include appearances at the Berlin State Opera, Hamburg State Opera, Vienna State Opera, Leipzig Opera, and the Bayreuth Festival, as well as performances of Der fliegende Holländer, Fidelio, Parsifal, Die Walküre, and Lohengrin during the 2025/26 and 2026/27 seasons.
From 2019 to 2024, Siliņš also served as Chairman of the Board of the Latvian National Opera and Ballet, while continuing his active international performing career. A four-time recipient of the Grand Latvian Music Award and holder of the Order of the Three Stars, he remains one of Latvia’s most distinguished and internationally celebrated opera artists.
