He has established an international career, conducting leading orchestras in France and abroad, including performances in Paris, Vienna, Prague, Naples, Québec and Riga.
A significant influence on his artistic development was his work as assistant conductor to Paavo Järvi with the Orchestre de Paris, where he gained valuable experience collaborating with renowned conductors such as Herbert Blomstedt, Louis Langrée, Christoph von Dohnányi and David Zinman. He is equally active in the symphonic and operatic repertoire, with a particular passion for French music and contemporary works.
In 2018, Masmondet founded the multidisciplinary ensemble Les Apaches!, dedicated to creating a dialogue between 20th- and 21st-century music, visual arts and new performance formats. His projects often combine music with theatre, video, dance and digital technologies, reaching audiences beyond traditional concert spaces. Recent highlights include the critically acclaimed recording of Florent Schmitt’s La Tragédie de Salomé, which received awards including a Diapason d’Or and a Choc Classica, as well as innovative projects around Ravel and contemporary creation.
Masmondet has recorded for labels including Sony Music, Warner Classics, Aparté and B Records, collaborating with ensembles such as the Orchestre National de France, Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo and the Czech National Symphony Orchestra. He is also active as a teacher, leading conducting classes at the École Normale de Musique – Alfred Cortot in Paris and giving masterclasses internationally.
His artistic profile combines deep respect for the classical repertoire with a strong curiosity for new forms of musical expression, making him one of the distinctive voices of his generation of conductors.
