Latvian National Symphony Orchestra announces an audition for the full-time employment as Principal Viola (for one year with possibility for permanent position)

The audition will be held at Riga Congress Hall, Riga, Kr.Valdemara street 5. 1st round and 2nd round on 13 October 2026, at 11.00 (by draw).

Requirements for candidates:

• excellent instrument proficiency, ability to perform solos at the highest level;
• must hold a degree in academic higher musical education or be a student majoring in Viola;
• work experience in the orchestra;
• good communication skills.

In order to take part in the audition, each candidate must submit:

1. curriculum vitae (CV),
2. motivation letter,
3. copies of documents supporting educational qualifications,
4. confirmation of consent to the processing of personal data.

The deadline for submitting applications is 6 October 2026. Applications must be submitted by email to the email address of the LNSO: [email protected], with the reference “For the audition”.

Applications received after 23:59 on 6 October 2026 will not be considered.
