Beethoven vs Šmite. The LNSO returns on 12 May in a virtual chamber music concert

The Latvian National Symphony Orchestra (LNSO) invites you to the virtual concert Beethoven vs Šmite on 12 May, 19:00. Prior to the emergency situation, the concert was to take place at the Great Guild; instead, it will be streamed on the platform LMT Straume and the websites of the LNSO and ticket provider Biļešu paradīze. Highlights of the upcoming concert include Ludwig van Beethoven’s Quintet in E‑flat major, Op. 16, and composition Trokšņu iela (Trokšņu Street) by the LNSO’s composer-in-residence, winner of Latvia’s Grand Music Award 2019 Gundega Šmite. Additionally, the programme will showcase enchanting music by French composers André Jolivet and Jean Françaix.


In the performance, following all the necessary safety measures, you will see the LNSO wind quintet – Maija Zandberga (flute), Egils Upatnieks (oboe), Mārtiņš Circenis (clarinet), Jānis Semjonovs (bassoon), and Artūrs Šults (French horn). Pianist Agnese Egliņa will also join them on stage. The concert will be led by Orests Silabriedis, director – Roberts Rubīns.


Tickets to the virtual concert cost EUR 7 and are available on the website of ticket provider Biļešu paradīze: www.bilesuparadize.lv.


If you had already purchased tickets to the 12 May concert at the Great Guild, you can receive a refund in two ways:


a) if tickets were purchased on the website www.bilesuparadize.lv, the amount paid for tickets will be transferred to the bank account of the buyer without special request within three days of the concert cancellation announcement;

b) if tickets were purchased in the Great Guild or Biļešu paradīze box offices, they can be returned to any Biļešu paradīze box office during its office hours. Please note that office hours may change due to the emergency situation declared in the country.
